24 Sep

Typically when a new restaurant opens it takes time for things to run smoothly and for the magic of the place to be perfected. On August 28th, SuViche (sushi/ceviche) became the exception to this rule. After stopping here by chance, it is safe to say that I am now a raving fan.
SuViche offers an uncompromised fusion of wonderful Japanese elements combined with bursting Peruvian flavor. SuViche is already a familiar and loved spot to the Downtown/Brickell crowd. Using that same menu, this gem is an amazing addition to the south beach food scene.
After speaking to these two about their experience and goals with SuViche, I learned that although tourists are more than welcome to dine within the restaurant the place was really created to cater to the local crowd. SuViche’s quick service paired with consistent, healthy, and popular menu items are sure to reel locals in on a weekly basis. When asked what their favorite dishes were, Ryan and Aliosha explained that they frequently cycle through favorite dishes. At the current moment Ryan happens to be stuck on The White Hot Heat Roll, while Aliosha finds himself revisiting the the Mexicano Ceviche and fried rice.

I was personally able to try the Salmon Tartar, Tuna Tataki, Fish SuViche Ceviche, and Lomo Saltado (my all-time favorite Peruvian dish). It’s hard to recommend specific dishes because everything we ordered was amazing. The nearby tables also seemed very satisfied with their various selections.
Decor here is minimalist. Exposed concrete and an unfinished ceiling give the space a NYC loft feel while the bright orange furniture really make the place pop.

Eat in, pick up, or delivery. Doesn’t matter how you get it, but you really do need to try SuViche.

Jimmy’z Kitchen

20 Sep

Miami Beach is a foodie’s paradise; however, it can be difficult to find something that both satisfies your taste buds and has your body thanking you for eating it. Jimmy’z Kitchen easily lands a spot in my top healthy South Beach dining spots particularly for delivery or takeout.

Chef Jimmy Carey is right at home in the kitchen and has been since he was a young boy watching and helping his mother cook. After working at an impressive list of restaurants, Jimmy finally brought us Jimmy’z Kitchen. The restaurant is known for their selection of Panini, sandwiches, salads and Daily Chef Specials. You can count on the ingredients always being fresh and of the highest quality. As far as what you should order? I have narrowed down my two favorite dishes to the Jerked Chicken Breast and the Chicken Creole; I take them both served over basmati rice and always order an avocado tomato salad as a side.
Jimmy’z is located at 1524 Alton Road, a stop I make on a weekly basis. If for any reason you can’t make it to the restaurant you can call (305)534-8216 for delivery. A full menu as well as the Daily Chef Specials can be found online at Although I usually order either of my two favorite dishes I encourage you to try other items on the menu and comment about them on my blog. Enjoy your Jimmy’z!
